Health condition of former President Pranab Mukharjee has declined as he is suffering from a lung infection, the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital has declared on Wednesday 12 Aug. The 84- year-old former president, who was actually admitted in the Delhi Cantonment on August 10 and continues to be on Ventilator support and doctors attending to him said. Well, his son and former MP Abhijit Mukharjee have said his father is showing “positive signs of improvement” and that is really good news.
Pranab Mukherjee was operated for the clot removal in this bran and has been in a coma ever since. He is also tested positive for COVID-19. There has been a decline in the medical condition as he has developed some features of lung infection.
Currently, he continues to be on ventilator support and being supervised by a specialist team, said the hospital in a statement.
Amidst all this, his daughter shared some memories of the moments she spent with her father and said, My dad and my uncle would hoist National Flag at the ancestral home in our village. Since then, he has never missed a year to hoist flag on Independence Day. By sharing some memories from last year’s celebration at home, she said, “I am sure that he will do the same next year, Jai Hind”.
In her post, she said that the most stable and strong image I have of my father is imaginary. In his childhood, he had to walk almost 10 km per day to reach his school and there is a dry stream on the way that would turn into a talkative torrent while the monsoon season. Whenever I close my eyes and trying to imagine my father, I only see this little boy standing by that roaring steam and thinking about how to cross it.
He has crossed that way and many other hurdles in his life and walked a long way after then. As a father, his most precious lesson to me has been the crossing these hurdles by myself. He has never tried to pamper or build bridges or any shortcut for me, but yes he has given me strength with his powerful presence to walk the path on my own without anyone’s help.
I will address the last few lines to my father because he will be embarrassed extremely if I ever say it to in front of him. “Thank you, Baba, for being what you are and yes for allowing be what I am. Really Thank you very much”.
