One of the best music composers and singers from the era of 1970- 80 Bappi Lehri is no more among us. He took his last breath on Wednesday at the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai. He was suffering from multiple health issues after he was declared corona positive in the month of April last year.  Since then he was on complete bed rest as recommended by the doctors.

He is counted among the most iconic Bollywood musicians; he started his career as a composer at the early age of 19. He had his roots in a family of musicians his father was a well-known singer.  He came from classical music background through which he made a smooth switch to the disco forte of music. Perhaps we can count on him as the first musician who introduced the Indian audience to the beats of disco. Some of his markable contributions to the industry made by him are “I am a disco dancer”, “Pyaar Bina chain Kahan re”. His loss right after Veteran Singer Lata Mangeshkar is a huge blow for the entertainment industry and for his fans and family.

His real name was Alokesh he started off his career in the Bengali film industry, his first break came through the movie “Daddu. The 69-year-old Singer and composer have left behind him a huge and cherishable musical legacy. He is survived by his son Bappa Lahiri and a daughter Rema.  

The legend was still very actively contributing to the music industry his last release came in the year 2020 “Bhankas” he also earned a prestigious award for this. The industry is really going to miss this legend as such are born once in many lifetimes and they are always irreplaceable as it comes to the talent they possess.
