Once the voting phase will be completed, the next thing to do would be to count the votes, the counting of all the casted votes will be held along with four other states. Those four other states will include Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, and also Manipur. The term for the ongoing assembly will end in the U P somewhere in May and for the other states, it will end on various given dates in March.

Effect of Covid waves on the elections –

The ongoing pandemic situation has badly affected all parts and a parcel of a routine normal life as well as it has affected the routine conduct of the events as well all across the world. It is because of the situation that the election rallies are modified to fit in the protocol so that India does not end up in a worrying scenario once again. During the second wave elections were held in Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu it was back in March -April 2020.

This time during the UP elections Omicron is here with the third wave of Covid -19, as a result, BJP is planning virtual rallies. All the physical marches and rallies were banned by the election commission till 15th Jan 2022. Celebrations after the results are also not allowed as per the guidelines given by the election commission.

How Yogi Adityanath is on the beneficial side?

Well, we all know how well connected BJP is as it comes to the digital ways and means of connection. So, yes the virtual rallies can be a great advantage for him if we look at it that way.

Uttar Pradesh Assembly and the numbers-

All the assembly elections for all the different states are nothing more than a game of numbers, so talking about the Uttar Pradesh assembly and the numbers we can say that there is a total of 403  seats out of those 202 are the major marks.  The 403 seats are further divided into 7 regions. Talking more specifically we can say that there are 44 constituencies in the west UP, Ruhelkahnd has 52. Doab has 73, Awadh has 78, Bundelkhand 19, east UP 76 North East UP has 61.

Talking about the previous elections in the year 2017, BJP won with 312 seats on the other hand Samajwadi party got 47 seats and Congress got only 7 seats. The time period for the current assembly will come to an end on 14 May 2022.

What are the parties doing for the elections?

BJP still seems on the gaining side with the Chief Minister face of Yogi Adityanath, this may further ensure a good return for Modi in the central power in the year 2024.

As a backing party has given a green flag for 6 yatras, this will cover Awadh, Kashi, Gorakhpur, and also Bundelkhand.   But we still cannot vouch on them looking at the ongoing corona situations.

Akhilesh Yadav has also come up with the “Samajwadi Vijay Rath Yatra” with the hope of 2012 repeating it for the party.

Congress is in the leading hands of Priyanka Gandhi, she is trying to overcome Yogi on the Lakhimpur- Kheri violence and the Hathras rape and murder issue.
