Don’t think that you are now free to move anywhere because lockdown has just ended but Corona is still not gone. The government has taken step towards this pandemic and that is Unlock. We are in Unlock Phase 5 in which things are getting normal by opening more industries and theatres as well. This step is taken by keeping the current economic situation in mind so, there is nothing like the end of COVID. Cases are still on rising and according to data, there are only 10 states in India who are contributing for more than 80% of the new recoveries and there are 79% of the new infections seen in the country.
Medical experts have warned that air pollution along with people mingling during this festival season can exacerbate Delhi’s COVID-19 crisis ahead. The new COVID cases of Delhi reported on November 8 overall tally to 4.38 lakhs of which 41,857 cases are still active.
During the 240-hour period, about 77 more deaths were reported and taking the total fatalities of Delhi to 6,989. A day earlier, the national capital had reported 79 deaths which is the highest ratio in over four months.
Along with 50,365 new COVID-19 infections and 577 mortalities are reported on Saturday, the total cases of India tally have gone past the 8.4 million marks, with the entire mark of 8,462,080 cases and approximately 125,562 deaths. According to the released number from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the activate cases in India currently stand at 516,632. Overall recoveries count in India continued steadily after reaching 7,819,886 that is 53,920 new recoveries on Saturday.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state in India with 103, 007 active cases, and 44,965 deaths last Saturday. It is followed by Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi as well.
The key highlight of Unlock Phase 5

  • Lockdown will continue to be applied in the containment zones till November 30
  • Restrictions on international air travel will also continue to remain except for routed permitted by the MHA.

New Delhi: The main strategies announced for the 5th phase of the unlock process letting the several activities in areas outside the containment zone such as re-opening of movie halls and schools will continue to remain in place till November 30.
Recently on Tuesday, the Home Affairs Ministry has issued an order in which they said that the existing COVID-19 guidelines issued on September 30 for Unlock Phase 5 will remain the same till November 30.
The MHA said in order that, “There will be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of goods and yes Persons. There will be no need for permission, approval, or e-permit for such movements.”
What will remain open and what will remain closed till November 30:

  • Cinemas, multiplexes, theatres will remain open with up to 50% seating capacity. Parks and similar entertainment recreational places will also continue to remain open
  • Swimming pools and Gym for the sportspersons are allowed
  • Business to Business exhibitions will stay open

Pollution, Festival season driving concerns
Medical experts have given warning that air pollution and people mingling while the festival season can actually worsen the COVID-19 pandemic. During Durga Puja celebrations ended on October 25, Chhath Puja and Diwali will be celebrated on November 14 and 20 as well, respectively.
The National Centre for Disease Control, in a report, has drafted recently and has warned that Delhi requires preparing for as many as 15,000 new COVID-19 cases per day taking into account winter season-related respiratory issues, the huge patients’ arrival from outside, and festive gatherings.
Highest of the third wave
Health Minister of Delhi Satyendra Jain has said on November 8 that the national capital has now hit the highest of the “third wave” and the number of infections recommends that it is the worst so far. “But hopefully the cases will come down very soon.” He said. Jain also said that “The government has increased the number of beds for the COVID-19 patients in the Delhi hospitals, but there is no plan to rope in banquet halls and hotels.”
Last week, Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr.ArvindKejriwal had approved that the national capital was witnessing the third wave of the COVID outbreak. “There has been a rise in the COVID-19 cases and we can call the third wave of COVID cases, “news agency ANI has quoted as Kejriwal saying. He also assured that the situation was being examined and that all essential actions would be taken.
On November 8, COVID -19 tally of India became at 85.07 lakhs and of these, 78.68 lakh patients had recovered. While 5.12 lakh cases were still categorized as active, the death toll mounted at 1.26 lakh. India still continues to be the second-worst affected country in the world.
While the daily cases of the country have dropped to less than 50,000 from the peak of about 97,000 in September, there are apprehensions of a possible resurgence of the outbreak as seen in Europe. With 4.38 lakh cases, Delhi is also the worst affected metropolitan city of India. Mumbai, which was seen as the largest hotspot of India in the starting months of the pandemic, has reported 2.64 lakh cases so far with a recent doubling date of over 200 days.
The center also had asked the Delhi government to upsurge RT-PCR tests and enhance its antigen as well as RT-PCR ratio that is recently at 77% antigen and 23% RT-PCR tests. The daily COVID-19 cases of India rose by 45,674 in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning and taking its overall coronavirus tally past the 85-lakh mark, government data released this morning has shown.
