In this modern era, women are doing their best to achieve success in their field. Whether, the question is to become a chef, pilot, wrestler, boxer or any other, they are excelling in every aspect. These women become an inspiration for every girl around the world. Let’s talk about some famous and top sportswomen and their achievement.

  1. PV Sindhu- World Badminton Championship 2019:

PV Sindhu, Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, on 25 August 2019 became the first gold medalist Indian women to win badminton World Championship. She won by beating familiar rival Nozomi Okuhara, from Japan, in a lopsided final here on 25 Aug 2019.  She finally expelled the spirit of that heart-wrenching loss with a completely dominating win over the same challenger. PV Sindhu also won Olympic silver for Rio Games in 2019, an Asian Games silver at Jakarta, a silver at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and the BWF Wolrd Tour Finals last year.

  1. Hima Das- Sprint Runner from the state of Assam:

Hima Das won 5 successive gold medals in various meets across the Czech Republic and Poland in July. In the discipline in 2019, she is the 2nd fastest Asian and comes in the top-10 under 20 runners in the world. She clocked 52.09s on her return to 400m after an injury-forced exit at the Championship of Asian Athletics this year in April. Hima Das is also known in the top-20 list of fastest sprinters under the age of 20 in the 200m event. She achieved her season-best timing of 52.09s for winning 400m gold at the Nove Mesto.

  1. Sakshi Malik- Indian Freestyle Wrestler:

Sakshi Malik has won the bronze medal in Wrestling in the 58 kg category at 2016 Rio Olympics. She has made history by becoming the first women from India. She is the brand ambassador for Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign in Haryana. Sakshi was inspired by her grandfather who was also a wrestler, Badhlu Ram. She started her wrestling training when she was just 12. The UP Government awarded her Rani Laxmi Bai award with a cash prize of 3.11 Lakhs.

  1. Yashaswini Singh Deswal- Indian Sport Shooter:

Yashaswini Singh Deswal has won the Gold Medal in 10-meter air pistol event at the 2019 World Cup that was held in Rio de Janeiro and certified for the 2020 Summer Olympics. She has won gold at ISSF World Cup 2019 at Rio de Janeiro Brazil at 2 September. Shooter Yashaswini Singh Deswal defeated Olena Kostevyc 2004 Champion in Athens Olympic by completing 1.9 points in front of her. By winning this, she secured 9th Olympic quota in shooting in India.

  1. Geeta Phogat- Freestyle Wrestler:

Geeta Phogat has won the first-ever gold medal of India in Wrestling at Commonwealth Games 2010. Well, she is the first Indian Woman Wrestler to have qualified for the Olympic Summer Games. She completed third winning the bronze medal in the freestyle 58kg category at the 2015 Asian Wrestling Championships in Doha with the Ajym Abdildina of Kazakhstan. Geeta Phogat, in April 2012, has won a gold medal in the Wrestling FILA Asian Olympic Qualification which accomplished at Almaty, Kazakhstan.
